Would would Moussa Konate move mean for Rangers' Alfredo Morelos?

The news that Rangers have lodged a bid of “close to £9m” for Senegal and Amiens striker Moussa Konate [Premium Courier] might be a bit dubious pricewise – but it hints to a scary contingency going into the end of the window. The notion that the club have launched any bid has also been “denied…

I do not believe we would pay £9m for a relatively unknown striker like Konate. I don’t wish to see panic buys like years ago with £12m for Flo. Unless Alfredo is definitely off, then only a back up striker is required. Rudden or Dallas could have been that. WATP.

Gerrard has been very clear regarding transfer window and that is " Morelos will not be going anywhere late on in the transfer window" Morelos seems happy and hopefully he will stay. Problem is if we don’t qualify for group stage then I can see Gerrard going back on his word and allowing a move to go ahead in order we are financially in a better position for rest of season. I would say we still need a third striker to get through this season, preferably a big hit man in the mould of Duncan Ferguson, Andy Carroll or Mark Hately. Replacing Morelos if he leaves is still not enough. It’s is a clear that if he gets injured or banned we are left with an aging Defoe who will not be able to sustain a whole season on his own. Also as much as I am confident in Defoe in Scottish league even though he missed a sitter yesterday, Europe will be much harder if we qualify.
