Former Rangers captain Lee Wallace looks almost certain to be headed for the Ibrox exit door when his contract ends this summer – with some suggestions that he should be given a chance to say goodbye to the fans in one of the final five games this season. I don’t think we should be sacrificing a game to say goodbye to Lee. But I think we should make the effort to have him on the bench against Celtic, our last home game, and bring him on for the last 5-10 minutes. He deserves that. He stood by us, why should we not stand by him?
“sentiment can’t be allowed to get in the way of progress, no matter how nice it may feel” If Lee had listened to his agent saying that, he would have walked rather than sacrifice an international career to play 4th Division football. We will know whether we can catch or be caught by the end of the Celtic game. He has earned this.
