Sorry, but he couldn’t play for the first team in Austria. He was not fit when the Euro squad was announced and so was not included. So playing wasn’t an option.
I agree he is struggling to nail a place down, but so are all of them except Arfield and Jack

As has been pointed out, Rossiter was never named in the European squads.
In my opinion, he is a very good all round midfielder, who after long injuries will take time to get back to his best. He is fortunate that Gerrard knows him and knows that he’s capable. I do think he has been ok in the games he has played, but needs more time.
Fingers crossed we start to see him getting regular game time and playing well.
