HMRC got it wrong about Rangers in what could be one of the most monumental scandals in British sporting history. According to the Times, Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs have acknowledged that they overcharged the Ibrox club by up to £50m back in 2012. This incorrect tax bill – it is being claimed – led…
The tax case was instigated by two hmrc employees who were season ticket holders at celtic and later on the fact that celtic employees that were using a scheme through the film. Industry to avoid paying tax was ignored or the hmrc came to a arrangement with celtic one rule for one and a different one for rangers
The bottom line here is that Her Majesty’s Revenue &Customs the beating heart of the British State drove a dagger directly into the institution of Rangers Football Club.
Trying to disguise or minimise the culpability of the British State on this by saying it was just 2 Celtic Season Ticket holders is pathetic.
At our next game the WATP crew will no doubt still be asking God to Save the Queen (and her tax collectors?) and also probably extolling Britannia Ruling waves.
We are told to boycott and hate the Scottish National Football Team because of their alleged harmful actions that were so detrimental to our club. They actually dealt with the aftermath of HMRC action.
I wonder if the same open hatred or contempt is now to be shown to the Crown and the British state.
The people of Ulster and the DUP are another example of the British state in action.
It is high time some of our fans woke up to reality and kicked this British nonsense into touch.
This action at best shows they do not share the same feelings of devoted loyalty to Rangers FC or the people that follow the team as is shown by so many of our fanbase.
Not hard to see you are a nationalist and this tax story has exited you to the core. At last a reason for Rangers football club to forget its traditions and values and steer away from a British identity to a completely Scottish one. The answer is never, it won’t happen the same way Celtic will never wear a poppy on their shirts for Remembrance Day the fans are the most important asset the club has, players and others come and go but the fans never change our club like it or not is by the true meaning of the word is a loyalist club the two pictures of her majesty in the dressing room and the loving cup ceremony and our ties to her majesties armed services proves this and that won’t change The Queen and the British Government are not to blame for this mistake a department or a number of persons in a department are to blame for this so therefore is no reason to turn our backs on our traditions and our values.
There are none so blind as those that will not see.
How the ruling elite love the gullible. Trying to deny that the British State is the culprit here not ra Sellik or their fans not the SFA or Scottish Government. The British HMRC and nobody else is responsible.
You quote the bond to the armed services while in total ignorance that 20% of the homeless on the streets of UK are ex-services.
Why should we need to buy a poppy or need a charity to care for these brave men? The British Government sent them into harms way and when they came back broken and poor they are abandoned by the British government just as we were when this all broke.
Do you think for an instant that Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool Spurs etc that the London Parliament would have allowed this travesty that befell our club? Not a chance but you keep right on following unquestioningly they love that it means they can keep dipping your pockets while you blame others.
you Support the wrong club mate did you get lost on your way to parkhead one government department or a number of people in a department are to blame for HMRC’s mistake not the entire government
Is that the best reposte you have?
Rather than face reality that HMRC, the heart of the British State crippled the most British of British football clubs you want to suggest it was because of a couple of rogue Celtic fans employed at HMRC. I don’t know which is the most ridiculous believing that is even possible or ignoring the true culprits. If that was true it doesn’t exactly say much for the British Tax System that they could get away with that. When I point out the reality and hypocrisy of some that follow our club again try and suggest I am a Celtic fan.
Stop blaming others and take responsibility.
The same British Government sold out the DUP and NI.
Another place ALL ‘real Rangers fans’ are supposed to worship and support.
Time for so many of our fans to wake up and smell the coffee.
just as with the DUP and Brexit The British Gov threw our club to the wolves. Wise up!
I am Rangers through and through, I attended my first match in the early 1970’s. My Father and Grandfather also supported the club since they were boys. My father and grandfather were both in the armed services as were many of my extended family. My own family as well as the ones that have passed away all wore poppies and will continue to do so we will always have respect for war veterans and the ones who fought for our freedom. However 1st and foremost we are Scottish and proud of it, we have no affinity with the queen, royalty or England we also have no respect for a British Government that has no respect for the Scottish people. Being a Scottish nationalist does not stop you supporting the club, but what it does do is make you realise that songs about the Queen, the pope, King William the IRA and UDA do not belong in a football ground. Rodster well said totally agree, James Madden your entitled to your opinion the same as everyone else but I think you are totally misguided, much the same as many of the bigots who sing the vile songs that Ibrox management are openly trying to ban.
Good Evening Parlane as an impartial observer can I point out a fact the queen’s mother was actually Scottish if you republicans finally get your way it could pave the way for Rangers to join the EPL In an all British league Rule Britannia

Good evening to you Gresleyman, thanks for your very balanced impartial comments!! I would not care if the whole of the royal family were born outside Ibrox and voted SNP. I despise their position, their lifestyle and obscene levels of wealth that we as tax payers pay for. I see Royalty having no link to football therefore I will never sing God save the Queen. I am sure many good Church of Scotland people love to sing God save the Queen but I do not see the relevance of this at a football match. Being non religious I have no call to praise her or ask for God to save her, she has not done anything for me or Rangers Football club for that matter. In fact If I am not mistaken not one member of the Royal family supports Rangers, Charles supports Burnley, most of the others are with London clubs and Aston Villa, they probably don’t give a shit about Rangers they have never even visited Ibrox. As much as you want to deny it Rangers are Scottish, Rangers play and represent Scotland in Europe and always will, they do not in my eyes represent Britain or Britannia, Rangers are not English. However if Scotland becomes an independent nation and your dream comes true and Rangers leave Scotland then I will just need to find someone else to support. I have a soft spot for Ayr and Clyde I will not be short of options. You can go to England with your wee union jack and your mug with the queens face on it, you can sing about god saving her. In the meantime whilst Rangers are still in Scotland I will wear my scarf and Rangers top, I will sing my heart out and cheer on the team, but only songs that Barasic, Morelos, Katic, Helander etc will appreciate. I for the life of me must be wondering what they must think at some of the garbage that comes from certain sections of our stadium, its knuckle dragging stuff that should and is being rightly banned.
I will also be retiring from this message site all I wanted to to is discuss Rangers FC with other true blue Rangers fans and not listen to party political broadcasts just for the record Parlane I may live at the other end of the UK but I do belong to a proud Scottish family my grandfather and his brothers all served king and country in it’s darkest hour sadly loosing one of his brothers in this process

If this correct you have a case, I am sure Rangers lawyers will not miss and hit the wall. If this was in the US you would be looking at 100 million.
Gresleyman If you dont want ““party political broadcasts”” don’t come on and spout phrases like “all british league” and “rule Britannia” and follow it with four union jacks not all rangers fans are like you. Rangers are Scottish as for the phrase about Scottish people being ““republicans”” that is just pathetic get a life.
