The Scottish Sun reports that Steven Gerrard has shown considerable faith in five young players, by taking them to Portugal for the club’s pre-season training camp. Lewis Mayo, Josh McPake, Dapo Mebude, Stephen Kelly and Jamie Barjonas all made the plane.

No Rudden or Middleton?
Middleton going out on loan, wouldnt be surprised if Rudden gets loaned out for 6 months min either
Surprised to see Mayo there before Aidan Wilson who I would have thought was the youngster nearest to first team .Glad young Barjonas is still in the picture , was impressed with him when he got his chance before, and at 20 he should be ready now if he is ever going to make it.
