I think Katic is better than both of them he plays for Croatia ranked 9 in the standings. Scotland are 25 in the standings. Finland are in 28th place, Goldson will never be centre half for England. Katic is not a raw talent he is a very experienced player who has made very few mistakes and still does not get the chance. Stewart is in a similar position, comes on scores two goals not picked makes you think.

Totally agree there, katic and barasic would be a stronger pairing as helander only does it in Europe to be honest, and same with rojo,Greg Stewart should have been on instead last night. Bad decision from gerrard
The idea that Katic is raw is not borne out. He has 82 appearances in the last 3 and a half seasons. Goldson has 52 appearances in the same time period.
Admittedly Goldson has played more games overall, but as WHT notes, he will never play international football, never mind for a country in the Top 10 and losing WC finalists. Croatia have options, Katic is good enough.
I don’t know if Raw is SG’s opinion. I hope not or our youth players will never get a look in. If you are good enough, you are old enough. Raw young talent beats old no talent. I am not saying that Goldson lacks ability, but Katic was dropped for errors yet Goldson is immune?
