Another Rangers game, another Alfredo Morelos goal, and another reason for the likes of Aston Villa to be considering a move for Rangers’ main man. The Colombian striker is on red-hot form and took his tally to 22 for the season following the 2-0 win over Livingston. Dean Smith dropped a not-so-subtle hint [Birmingham Mail]…
No chance he’s worth double that why would AM want to go to Villa ?they have already spent around £150m and could still get relegated also no chance of Europa league football either
He’s obviously doing bits north of the border and 20m is about fair for someone who although is in red hot form the calibre of opposition is 100% nowhere near what it would be in the prem, I’d welcome him at the Villa. After stealing McGinn from Hibs there is some good talent to be had but not if there gonna be silly over the fee.
If Wesley is worth £22million then Alfie would be worth £44million as he twice the player Wesley is.If hes not a better player why would Villa want him , they must be trying to improve their team and see Alfie as an improvement . We are not Hibs and Alfie is under contract , hes better than Villa but if they want him they better stop kidding themselves because he is so valuable to us it will take REAL big money to shift him in January .
Have to agree with the others
A) £20 million? Really? A £20 million striker can’t save Villa, you need a £40-50 million striker. You have spent £150 million and it has but been enough, so another £20 million player is not going to hack it.
B) Why on earth would Morelos go to Villa, get relegated and spend time in the Championship? Ask Defoe at the end if his career if he is interested, he isn’t. Can you guarantee European football? Aye, right.
He will get better offers. Mid table team who understand his value, with a sell on when he moves again. He is that good.
You admit you stole McGinn, and want to steal Fredo. Sorry, going rate or go away. And it will be in the summer, not January. Doubt you will want him for the Championship, certain he won’t want you.
I like Villa, hope you stay up, but it won’t be by stealing our players for a song
Why would Alfredo go to villa or crystal Palace they are smaller clubs compared to rangers and will only be hoping to stay in the pl they will never win silver trophies and never will finish in the top 10 of the pl therefore will not play in Europe Alfredo should stay with rangers at least till the summer window hopefully we will have won the spl by then
Martin1690 money would be a huge factor as football is a short career, this in itself would be reason enough to move for many players. Not only that but if a player believes in his ability they may want to move to a lowly club in premiership to put themselves in the shop window for a move to bigger club, as an example look at Robertson and in the future McGinn will probably get a bigger move there is talk of Ryan Fraser moving from Bournemouth to Liverpool and look what Van Diijk achieved after moving to Southampton he is now a champions league winner along with Andy Robertson. Also who would you rather play against Ross County and St Johnstone with around 7,000 fans in the frozen Scottish Highlands or to capacity crowds against the likes Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham in London and both Manchester clubs and Liverpool? As for not playing European football that’s a laugh, who would need European football you would be playing the European Champions and some of the top sides in Europe week in week out also there is every chance of European football via cup competitions. As for winning trophies when was the last time we won the Premiership or a cup competition, bloody 8 years ago. This whole argument about guys not moving to small teams in the premiership is pathetic if it was me I would be off in a shot and I would not blame Kamara, Morelos etc if they did the same. Morelos now off mark for Columbia has his price gone up? will he now be even more confident of his ability and request a move if a premiership club comes in for him in January?
The calibre of Rangers European opposition is on a par with at least 5 clubs in English Premiership, for Rangers to draw and beat Porto with Morelos scoring in both games shows you his talent, his European record against other European clubs is also great. I am not sure what point you are making regarding calibre of opposition you say it’s " nowhere near what it would be in the premiership" that is just simply wrong.
