Sandy Easdale makes Rangers finance claim under Dave King

Sandy Easdale has made a return from the shadows to claim Dave King “can’t finance” Rangers’ ambition to challenge Celtic – and insists that the Gers need “real financial backing.” Former Football board chairman Easdale, has been quiet about the Gers recently but has popped his head above to parapet to make the least surprising…

I would agree with Mr Easdale Mr King does not and probably never will have the appropriate funds to financially challange Celtic at this time. One must also accept neither does Mr Easdale, so the statement is redundant. I remember the owner of the Phoenix Suns who has a personall net wealth of around 400 million. He expressed an interest in buying rangers, this begs the question why was he not supported. Raising finance for players is something he is all to familiar with, he is or has sold the Suns for an estimated value of 1.2 billion. This might be enough to invest in the odd football player. He is probably taking a back seat now the football team was for his son to manage. What are you thoughts on the fact that a man chairman was chosen who really does not have the wealth to take Rangers where we all want them to be?

Dont rewrite history , no-one was chosen to be Rangers Chairman .Dave King had to work ( along with the 3 bears )to build up his stake to be in a position to oust knobs like the Easdales, something no-one else was prepared to do .It wasnt as simple as just swooping in and buying everyone out .
If the players we brought in had beaten the other teams as consistently as they should have then we would be competing with Celtic this season , they are not that far ahead as 1-0 either way in 2 games , proves.
As for Easdale coming out now in the Daily Tim ,another negative story in the week before the Old Firm game .It is so obvious what they are up to , it is laughable .

Have to agree with wlgers4ever - let’s take a minute to remember that we only wanted the Easdales out because of the people they associated with and the fact that they were doing nothing to address the financial disparity. Too busy filling their own pockets.
King and the other Bears came in when they realised how bad things were, maybe they will make money out of it, I don’t know. It seems unlikely. I wouldn’t begrudge them a penny, as they have saved us from some truly horrible people. For one of those horrible people to come out with this sanctimonious shoite is just a horrible reminder of where we were and a reason to thank King for what he has saved us from.

I am not condoning what Mr Easdale say’s. I am pointing out it was that easy, when Rangers were up for sale the buyer/owner dictates the terms. He would then have selected his management board. And i am sure none of the aformentioned people would have been on it. Regardless, to compete with Celtic you need real money that i am afraid is a fact of life.
