Today’s starting team is very near our first choice, excepting Goldson for Worral, for big games ie Them, Killie away and Sheep away. Against weaker teams, we can try 3-5-2 or 4-1-3-2 or 4-4-2 be it diamond or otherwise. But today’s team should have started against Killie and we would be 3 points closer. Davis and Defoe need time to get up to speed. So start them against bottom three, or bring them off the bench once we are in control. Until they prove they are better than the man holding the jersey
What the game against Livingstone showed is what actually happens when Rangers turn up for a game against weaker opposition. Gerrard has to find a way to get his players playing like this in games against the likes of Kilmarnock and Motherwell.
It’s bogey fixtures like these which have took points away from Rangers, but if the performances were of the level they where at against Livi, these draws and defeats would have been victories.
