Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has reportedly claimed that he wants to leave Ibrox in January and make a move to a more “competitive league” after a blistering start to the season. The Colombian’s double against Ross County on Wednesday took him to 18 goals for the season and El Buffalo has admitted that there’s been…
No happen in January, end of day hes got contract and we hold upper hand
If a premiership club comes in with an offer and Morelos wants to leave it could become very tricky. If we do not accept the offer we may have a very unhappy player whose form may dip and moral in team may also be affected. It’s not as simple as saying he not going in January because he has a contract and because we have the “upper hand”. The fact of the matter is if an offer is made and he wants to leave it’s going to get messy. Gerrard may be wise to look at potential targets/replacements in case we get offers we cannot refuse. I include Kamara and possibly Tav in this. It would be shocking if some guys left and we did not have a back up plan, we are not exactly rolling in cash and Gerrard may be told he needs to go.
Although you are right that the player holds the power, I have not seen or heard anything that makes me think he would make problems. IF told he could go in the summer with our blessing.
To be honest, right now I would rather we didn’t lose anybody mid-season. But if we had to, the irreplaceables are Morelos, Jack and Davis. Anybody else could be replaced, IF we absolutely had to. But Davis, Defoe and McGregor unlikely to go because of their age. We have backup for FBs, with Flanagan and Polster. We have 4 decent CBs, lots of wingers although a little light on the right hand side and plenty of central midfielders.
Again, I do not want to lose anybody. But Morelos and Kent do not have a price in January.
Rangers shouldn’t sell Morelos this January unless somebody comes calling with big dollars if Rangers get out of the group stage and are still in the Europa cup in the new year and AM continues to score goals at the rate he currently is his value will vastly increase that’s not only good news for Rangers also a bigger signing on fee for AM if he was sold in the summer Parlane appears to give the impression he wants SG out it would be interesting to know who he would be happy with as Rangers manager?
Weve always known this is Alfies ambition and then leading up to January we get all the media stuff about Aston Villa , Crystal Palace etc etc watching him .Come the transfer window we get no offers but from China where he doesnt want to go. These wee English teams won`t pay the money but it gets their fans excited so they play along .
He may go in January, if he pushes for it, but it will be for mega bucks a large portion of which will be used to sign a class replacement .
Not sure where you got the impression I want SG out where is your proof? what have I said that gives you this idea? I think SG has done a decent job since coming in. However I do admit I am a dour face who often sees the negative before the positive. This forum is so full of positive people it should be called the rangers SG appreciation society. Let me get one thing straight I want Celtic stopped and I want to win trophies if it means SG gets sacked to achieve it great. At the present time I have every confidence he will be a success however if not a success this year I will be angry and upset especially given the amount he has spent and players he has brought in, I reckon I will not be the only one who would be upset . As for January window I agree totally Davis and Jack will be hard to replace as will Morelos. The days of Rangers spending nearly 13 million on Flo are gone we need to balance books. I hope we keep our strongest players. I also hope guys SG brought in like Polster, Edmundsun, King show there worth and Aribo and Ojo show there potential but if we end up this season with nothing questions will be asked of his signings and his tactics. Lots of supporters really happy with results but I’m not, as I said I am a dour face. I hated getting beat by Young Boys and Celtic and drawing with Hearts. Also hated the narrow wins we have been getting against the likes of Legia Feyenoord, Motherwell, St Mirren and Kilmarnock and only looking good and beating teams when they go down to ten men. Our team is doing OK but not well enough in my opinion given what we have spent compared to everyone else other than Celtic. We have had one year with Gerrard winning nothing, I don’t want another one, especially after spending ten million on Kent and Helander. It’s great to win ugly and have last minute wins but getting beat by Celtic, Young Boys and having a draw against a Hearts side at the bottom of the league does not fill me with confidence. Let’s hope I’m wrong.
Apologies Parlane if I have misinterpreted some of your recent posts,we all want the same thing a successful Rangers I to have felt frustrated by one or two performances particularly against Hearts two weeks ago let’s hope they get it right on Sunday
Gresleyman I have recently been given a hard time on this forum for speaking my mind. One guy called me a pedo, a tim, a Catholic etc because I disagreed with his opinions. All I want is a successful Rangers. I lived through the times of us winnings trebles , Jock Wallace, Gullane Sands, Cooper, Greig, Jardine, Forsyth,
Mclean, McCloy, Russell, big DJ. …no manager or player is bigger than Rangers.
