Rangers would be crazy to sell James Tavernier in January

Rangers captain James Tavernier splits opinion amongst fans like few others at Ibrox – but the Gers must ignore any bids for their skipper. Various clubs, including Fenerbahce and Brighton, have been credited with an interest but none have made any official offers – and chances are there will be more links again this month.…

Rangers fans have to remember it’s a business and learn from the souness era speculate to accumulate yes bt you also have to realise the value of your assets at it’s peak .
Anyone who thinks Gerard bought Flanagan as cover for lb or rb is niave ,
If we get this kind of offer for tav we should take it ,Flanagan has never had a chance in his proper position so the fans views of his talents are based on false impression .
For me he is our best defensive rb .

If someone is daft enough to offer £7 million for a right back who can’t tackle, I’d bite their arm off! Someone mentions all these goals he’s scored…most of them are penalties. My granny could score most of them!

He’s not a Captain, in my view, and there are going to be better options going forward. If Davis stays, after the end of the season, he’d be a proper Captain…leading by example, not dancing around, failing to get a challenge in!

Cash is King…take the money!!

fin, he did more than alright against Celtic last month. He is decent as a defender, but way more than decent going forward. How much would it cost us to replace him? that, plus interest, is what we should demand.

Flanagan is a decent defender. Local, it is much harder to play a pass when your body is facing the wrong way for the foot you want to use. I would judge him when he has played at RB. he will not give us the goals that Tav does though.

I’d be happy to let him go for around 10 million, but not till the end of the season. When he is playing well hes one of our better players but he’s a bit inconsistent for my liking and really terrible at taking corners. Yeah he scores but only from the penalty spot which a lot of others would do in his place. He does have a good penalty record but I think for an 8 figure amount we could bring in a decent replacement and a few others in the summer that would improve the team over all. Keep him till 55 then we’ll see.

I agree with both skibadly and Mike_Rose! Tavernier did have a blinder against Celtic, along with all of the others!
However, as Mike says, he doesn’t do it all the time. Flanagan will be a very good competent right back, but not as good going forward. With Davis on board, the midfield should be doing the pressing forward, supplying the 2(?) front men! I’d pocket the cash and go for a solid defender, which Flanagan is…at right back!
