It does sound promising, however we also spend a lot of money on our youth system which seems to do well in age group football. Despite this, we have players like Leon King looking at their alternatives because there seems to be no path to the first team.
That has already cost us Gilmour and we need to ensure there is a point to the youth system by getting several of them into the first team. I am not saying individual decisions have been wrong, but if the youth system cannot provide 1st team players there is no point in wasting money on it.
