Rangers splashed out £7million on Ryan Kent over the summer to bring the former Ibrox loanee back to Glasgow from Liverpool on a permanent basis – but has he turned out to be Steven Gerrard’s white elephant? Kent’s transfer was one of the most protracted of the summer, with the deal only going through just…
At least the manager dropped Kent to the bench. What has Goldson got to do before he is dropped? The real problem appears to be that the harmony, in the dressing room that seemed to have improved when the manager first arrived, has disappeared and players are back to being individuals rather than team players. Get the McCrories and Docherty back to show others what it really means to be a Rangers player.
Hugh, you’re spot on. I would rather see those players brought back now to see out the end of the season. Why does Jordan Jones not play? Is there something going on in the background that we are not aware of? I would rather sit for 90 minutes and lose a game when you see every player giving their all to win. Recent games have shown that players don’t get it - or if they do they have a very strange way of showing it. Kent should be providing much more irrespective of price tag. We keep seeing academy / development players being talked about - get them in and terminate the contracts of those that haven’t got the desire to be a Ranger - we deserve better.
Kent produces the goods in big games against tough opponents.
He has same problem as every other player and that is coping with Gerrard’s media criticisms.
Gerrard is a very young manager with great managerial qualities and I’m hoping he is bright enough to start critiquing his players 1on1 and lets them know he has got their backs when things get tough
Then all this psychodrama will go away because there is a really good team in there. I watched them away to Porto and was blown away by the performance after Porto scored. That wasn’t a fluke
