So, you are suggesting we pay him 18 months wages up front to go? I do not know the details of the current loan, but am sure that the club he has joined are making at least a contribution to his wages. If he still has 12 months left after that, and there is some dubiety as some sources claim his contract ends this summer, then we loan him again if nobody wants to buy him for a token fee.
He is entitled to £1.5 million approx until his contract ends. I think we should try to recoup as much of that as possible. Even £300,000 could pay for a couple of youth players, or be used for something else.
I do not feel we as a club are so rich that we can throw away £1.5 million on a whim, sorry
