They were made to work for the points, but Rangers secured a 3-1 win at Hamilton Academical on Sunday afternoon. Ryan Jack continued his impressive goalscoring form with the opener after seven minutes, and at that early stage, it looked likely to be a one-sided affair. Jack returned from Scotland duty and netted for the…
Watched the game always a bit dodgy coming out of break’s but thanks to Jack and Kent we got the points we will only get better from here, must tighten up in defence much too open at times a bigger team would have capitalized on our slip ups. Good luck for the game on Thursday boys.

There was no way anybody deserved a 9 today . Jack top man with an 8 and Kents inconsistent display was probably covered up by his 2 great goals so probably worth a 7 .Aribo was as bad as Arfield and if you are giving Goldson a 4 then Helander should be the same .Goldson was slack in possession in the second half but he was the guy making clearances and headers when we were under pressure. The two Ryans probably the only two to deserve pass marks in what was a bad performance but a good result
I can’t argue with anyone’s comments. There were times that Hamilton were attacking and I was hiding behind the couch.
I’d like to see two changes. Flaming an at RB, with Tav pushing wide right and Goldson replaced by Katic.
In a positive note, it’s good to get a result after the international break.
Difference of opinion. Kent was wasteful at times in the first half, but the importance of his contribution can’t be overstated. His first goal was as good a piece of individual quality anyone has produced all season and there’s a real chance that if he hadn’t been playing we’d have dropped points. His goals aren’t incidental to his performance, but the key part of it.
As for the centre-backs - Helander didn’t charge up the middle of the pitch, lose possession and throw his hands up in the air. A mixture of sheer fortune and Kamara’s endeavour saved Goldson’s skin. Had the game finished 2-2, his other defensive efforts would have been near irrelevant.
Agree that Aribo needs to offer more, but he was tidy in possession in the main and Arfield was most definitely not. Moves consistently broke down at his feet. He now hasn’t scored in 20 games.
Have to agree with Iain. We do not have a right winger, so let’s try Tav there, it can’t hurt.
Love Arfield, but we now have a better player in every position except perhaps the hole behind the striker, but we don’t play a 4-2-3-1 system that uses that.
If Katic can be dropped for a poor game, what about Goldson?
Kent was wasteful a lot of the time in both halves and while he scored two great goals it doesnt make him man of the match over a guy who scored a goal , helped create another and was by far and away more creative the whole way through .As a football reporter I would expect you to not fall into the trap of awarding MOTM awards just because someone scores. You are also getting mixed up about Goldsons charge forward which you are right was horrendous , but that want the incident that Kamara rescued , that came off a diagonal from the right.Helander was every bit as bad as Goldson and was constantly out thought and out muscled by Davies. Aribo was another who was dispossessed easily and didnt have the strength or guts for the fight .How you can say he was tidy in possession I dont know .I am not defending Arfield I thought he has been and was poor but Aribo is just as bad .Yeah he got a goal a couple of weeks ago but apart from that he too has done nothing for weeks .There is more to football than fancy tricks which lead to nothing and he needs to learn that.
My apologies mate , just watched it again and it was that error by Goldson that resulted in Kamaras intervention .You were absolutely right.
No problem on the Goldson thing, cheers for coming back on that. It was a really poor lapse, but agree that both centre-backs struggled and it’s a slight concern after some strong form before the international break. Hopefully better to come on Thursday night.
On the MOTM, I thought Jack was excellent in the game as he is pretty much every week, but felt that Kent was deserving of the higher mark because he ended up being the difference between the two sides. Jack was given pretty much the freedom of the park in the first half and took his really goal well, but that was cancelled out and then Kent was the one who took the game by the scruff of the neck despite his prior wastefulness. Think it’s just a slight disagreement in how we each viewed the match/criteria for MOTM though - both players were streaks ahead of the rest.
On Aribo, in hindsight, 6 was pretty generous. I’m a fan of what he can bring to the team/think he has great potential, but agree he needs to commit more in 50/50s and show for the ball/take more responsibility in possession.
