BBC Scotland’s football coverage is riddled with an obvious anti-Rangers bias. It existed long before the Club’s financial shortcomings (which were brought about by people who have never been convicted) in 2012. But what happened in 2012 provided the Rangers-haters who influence BBC Scotland with reason to open the broadcaster’s flagship television programme, ‘Sportscene’ with a bizarre opening sequence prior to live transmission of a Scottish League Cup tie between Rangers and Motherwell at Ibrox in September 2012. I shall never forget it nor forgive BBC Scotland for producing and transmitting that animated sequence. BBC hierarchy is forever inclined to claim impartiality as its byword… Don’t you believe it. And yes, Stewart, BBC Scotland is applying a different, discriminatory approach when covering all matters connected with activity involving The Rangers Football Club. Perhaps, Rangers supporters should merit a concession such as a mandatory reduction to their annual licence fees as a direct consequence of BBC Scotland’s policy?
