As far as I am aware Mike, his ban doesn’t kick in until the Dundee game on 9th December. Lafferty might be doing a lot of watching on until then!

A really odd rule this one. But year Jordan, Morelos misses the Dundee game as opposed to the Hearts one like you say. Second yellow cards seem to have some sort of two-week effect? Not sure about the full details on this, but it’s not like a regular red card.
I wonder if Gerrard fancies the whole “fate” thing with Lafferty returning to Tynecastle. Doesn’t necessarily mean Morelos drops out, just that he finds a way to play both. Doubtful, but it could be something he thinks about.
