Rangers keeper Allan McGregor may well be one of Rangers’ key men next season, but he won’t enjoy getting himself ready for it. Speaking to Rangers TV, McGregor revealed that he dreads the intense period before the big kick-off. So much so that the former Scotland keeper has “nightmares” whilst he’s leading up to it.…
This is auld news, read it weeks ago and was aware of greegs view last year. To be honest as an auld player I can totally sympathise. I used to run, do weights, do ball work and played constant five a sides because they were fun energetic and a Laff outwith preseason. looking back I got more out of that stuff than pre season training. Tell you why. It was a time to build relationships with the guys, it was character building, it was a time to talk fitbaw and life. It was not structured and was not an environment where you were told what to do. Some guys need to be left alone to do there own training…greegs is one.
Isn’t this something which SG already said himself last season ?
I’m sure I remember SG stating that McGregor is a law unto himself when it came to training (not his actual wording), I may well be wrong in this instance all the same, lol.
