Rangers captain James Tavernier was the man who made the two individual errors that turned the result on its head against Young Boys on Thursday night. However, he was certainly not the only player to have a poor game. On Matchday One, Sheyi Ojo was the hero. His spectacular long-range strike gave the Gers their…

Sorry to repeat a view from last year ( after the Celtic howler), but I don’t think we’ll ever win anything with Tavernier at Right Back. His gaffes are really costly and his tackling is “powder puff”!

As a Captain, how can he motivate and/or criticise team mates, when he’s guilty of the most diabolical blunders in key matches? The worst we should have had, last night, was a draw! 10 men against Celtic should have had a draw!

We should have taken “any” money offered for him in the summer and made Davis our Captain.

I repeat “We’ll win sweet fa with Tavernier in the team!”

I think that’s a bit extreme fingolf - but I do agree he’s nowhere near as good on defence as he is going forward

A few folks have suggested moving him forward as a winger - I think there’s a lot of merit in that idea

I think we should play Tav up front and put Morelos at the back he is a much better tackler than Tav.

Tend to agree with fingolf, Tavernier is a major liability as a full back, surprised SG or his mate Goldson have not had a go at him about being caught out of position and leave the other defenders hangin’, OK he is VG going forward and crosses an excellent ball but as a full back??? no thanks, must be better defenders in the academy or even give Polster a run otherwise what was the point in signing him…and maybe (this is a big maybe) Greg Docherty?? ??? can’t do any worse than ‘Captain Chaos’

As much as Tav was at fault, Helander at 1st goal was poor he is slow, then fell on his arse and failed to see the danger of guy coming in at his back. He should have cut the cross out and at second goal his clearing header was rubbish he should have headed to the side not into the middle where on rushing young boys players were pushing to pick up the ball. Gerrard said before match Helander was chosen because of his experience and he gets tight on players but he was nowhere at 1st goal, I thought he was just as much to blame at Tav.
