It’s difficult to really put a finger on the growing frustration between Rangers and the Scotland national team. But somewhere between the gluttony of Rangers’ untimely demise in 2012, the booing of the club’s players on international duty and the growing politicisation of the Scotland fanbase Gers fans are being turned off. The national side…
Lets get one thing straight Olly McBurnie was not scapegoated because he is a Rangers man, he is as relevant to Rangers as Rod Stewart is to Celtic .He may bang on about the club , but he has no chance of ever being a Rangers player .He is crap , pure and simple and should be nowhere near the Scotland team . Likewise McLeish should never have got the job as his day has well and truly gone , if he had got the Rangers job , our fans would have wanted rid of him after a few defeats too .
The hatred of the rest of Scottish football for us manifests itself in the Scotland fans so its hardly surprising our fans don`t turn out the way they used to and if you add that to Celtics support being more interested in Eire , the national team gets the support you would expect .Add them all up on a Saturday and you would be lucky to clear 25,000.Unless Rangers have a number of players break through as good enough , the SFA do something to build bridges , stop pandering and invigorate the support (not appointing Rangers hating managers would be a start ,Strachan and Clarke , really !) and the SNP stop dividing the country with their nationalist doctrine , nothing will change.
