Rangers fans react to latest Roger Mitchell Celtic title comments

Outspoken former SFA chief Roger Mitchell believes Rangers have already accepted that Celtic will be handed the title. Speaking as the debate rages on over what should happen if the league cannot restart, Mitchell suggested there’s an inevitability that the Parkhead club will be awarded the title and Hearts will be relegated. For the former…

Who’s to say that they wouldn’t have a downturn in form. It could easily happen

Agreed - awarding the title has got to be an absolute last resort as it would devalue it massively - almost every one of the Celtic fans I know also think it would be a tainted worthless title and ruin their claims to another 9IAR

I also think cancelling the season is a close contender for a last resort, virtually the whole season has been played and it would be daylight robbery to deny Celtic the opportunity to win this season - while there’s a chance they’d slip up, it’s obviously very remote.

The ambition has to be to finish the season, even if it means finding a way to run it over the summer, then start next season later than planned and with a shortened format. Lots of challenges to overcome for that, but there is no happy path here.

Right now though, the clamour from a section of both sets of fans to award the title / cancel the season is short sighted and does the respective clubs no favours. Rangers, Celtic (and all clubs) simply need to focus on supporting the health and safety of the people who work in football and in our communities.

Let idiots like this guy spout off about awarding titles to his hearts content - it’s embarrassing and meaningless.
