Rangers fans have rallied behind captain James Tavernier after online trolls abused the Gers captain amid criticism over several high-profile mistakes. The marauding full-back has not quite hit the heights of last season but is a vital part of the Ibrox side and one of the club’s most loyal and longest-serving players. He might be…
No abuse is worthy about any player. Criticism yes but not abuse. Tav as I have said before is not a full back. He is a wing back and with the number of assists he makes, we should play
3-5-2 to accommodate him. WATP.
why not push him into RM? Hes never a RB he cant defend FFS!
He offers more in attack AND defence than Ojo, so as you say, let’s move him up the field and bring Flanagan in behind him
I despair at so called Rangers supporters posting abuse at anybody far less one of our own. Grow up or shift your questionable loyalties elsewhere.
I agree with those who have commented that Tav is not a defender. That he is being asked to do so exposes a weakness in our pool. This must be addressed as a high priority. In his time at Rangers Tav has done far more good than bad but to be Captain of Rangers requires class, consistency and a cool head under pressure.
Previous Captains over the years have had form dips and had to face criticism from fans and press. Greig, Amoruso, Gough, Wallace to name a few. All truly great players but in each case the club found a way to help them for the betterment of the player and club.
Get behind the man!

Tav has been a rock, scored some great goals such as against Celtic, he is not a robot he will have off days but as Billytf says we need to support him, he does not become a bad player overnight and for me the two goals lost against young boys were not entirely his fault. Helander was slow at first goal failing to cut out cross or mark the guy who scored, on the second goal it was his really bad header that led to a loss of possession when all he had to do was head it out for a throw in or cushion it to the three rangers players in front of him, watch it on youtube. Tav gets to much stick in my opinion and all this blame is affecting his confidence and his performances.
my thoughts exactly! Cant understand why SG hasnt tried him in RM with Flanagan at RB.Got to be worth a try surely even in a friendly.
tavs assistst from RB are amazing! Attacking wise he is one of our main players but he gets posted missing a lot at RB.Still say hes a RM not a RB,but we are lucky to have him.
