Rangers are back in action tonight and face an emotional evening at Ibrox when they take on Feyenoord in their opening Europa League Group G game – with Gers fans on Twitter not happy with Niko Katic’s absence from the side. The Light Blues starting XI was confirmed by the club’s official Twitter account with…

If we get beat or even draw questions will be asked. No King when Jack injured (apparently) why bring a semi final Wales European internationalist and Premier League winner and put him on the bench when a guy is clearly unfit. Why also break up of the only consistent defensive partnership in the team??? the mind boggles. Once again no out and out winger, its another Celtic result waiting to happen what is going on?? The message to Halliday and Katic must be kinda upsetting to say the least??. Hope I’m wrong.

Parlane , Jack is fit and plays so what is the comment about King about ? Ojo is a winger although we have been playing a narrow front 3 since the back end of last season , successfully I may add.

Reckon Katic is injured, he’s not even on the bench

Jack has been one of our best players this season consistently, and he must have recovered his fitness in time - I would like to see King getting an opportunity but I reckon he’s still a few weeks away from full match fitness having not played first team footy for quite a while

Lets wait and see what happens. Jack is obviously physically fit as he plays from the start, but i’m worried because being fit and being match fit are two totally different things. My comment about King is if I was him with his experience I would be a bit miffed as to why I was not getting some game time he has come on as a sub and not done anything wrong and I think his experience would be invaluable in a game like this. Also Kent had not played much competitive football especially not at the speed of our Scottish game and he ends up with a hamstring problem due to being played from start not a wise move as every physio will agree, so i am worried Jack has been rushed back.
As for Ojo sorry its my opinion I am not impressed by his play and Barker seemed on fire last week. I hope I am proved wrong. I Notice you have not said anything about my comment regarding Helander, or my comment regarding my message to Halliday and Katic what’s your opinion?

Halliday and Barisic are battling for the starting berth - all’s fair

I think Ojo has been doing ok, and looks excellent in flashes, he’s still ahead of Barker in the queue at this point for me - but I do wonder whether there’s a contract clause that means Stevie has to play him

Parlane, this is not just for you but all those who think Kent should not have started.
When a player starts, he can be taken off when he and/or the manager feels he has had enough. If he comes on as a sub, he may have to stay too long if there are no subs left and it looks bad to put someone on then sub them off again - implies you don’t know what you are doing.
Hearts brought a striker sub on second half at the weekend, but he is out for months now after doing his hamstring. So there is no guarantee that subbing on stops injury.
We tried it, it didn’t work. Let’s move on

Skibadly fair enough point taken, i just wanted him to be introduced in a protective way because of lack of game time. 7 million does not mean physical attributes need no protection.
