Ahead of today’s fixture against Aberdeen, we suggested that it was time Greg Stewart got a chance to prove himself. Michael Beale recently claimed that the 29-year-old had been training well [RangersTV] and with several stars out through injury and the team looking leggy in mid-week, it was the ideal scenario for the summer signing…
If that was not a one off, if he can be relied upon to deliver that 9 games out of 10, then we have another option. Which we need.
Not looking forward to next season without Alfredo, but at least we have plenty of time to spend some of the money on a replacement. Because there will be a lot of money coming. An awful lot. SG will not need a budget from the board for the next two seasons, he can spend the Morelos dollars
What a TEAM PERFORMANCE ALL FOURTEEN, you have to hand it to stevie g , the sheep had four big guys across the defence and stevie sends out the wee guys and terrorised them, must have been a great atmosphere at the brox because it was glued to the telly stuff , one thing is for sure there will have been a few grumbles before kick off but that is what being a gers fan entails , put five of us in a room and the only thing we will agree on that WE LOVE OUR TEAM .
I thought the big boy done well , up against that cosgrove he was the choice , I had the pleasure of watching it on telly and if we keep alfie after jan we will be lucky , his all round game was class , and his attitude was what we expect from a world class player that he WILL become , but I hope we have a scout looking for his replacement
I actually thought we should have scored more. Some stray passes and bad misses, Tav was lucky with his penalties their goalie was rubbish and Aberdeen were doing OK until we scored. Stewart overall was average…Ojo was slow and Morelos got a lucky header.
LOL. HAHA. Brilliant performance great to see TAV have confidence to take the penalties, Morelos worked his socks off a great performance and brilliant goal. Barasic and Katic shouting at each other in Croatian and both playing a blinder it was all good. Cosgrove deserved a red. Let’s keep that up Rangers it was perfect, a great display a special mention to Stewart he got his chance and took it. In words of Kingsbaws the future looks bright though we should have got Shankland, he got another hatrick today.
You had me fuming there for a minute first paragraph
see i’m not all bad…credit where credit is due and we were brilliant today.
Keep the heid, we were brilliant to watch but they were atrocious.
Completely agree - but let’s enjoy this one For a minute - Aberdeen have been a banana skin for years now and this was fun
As mentioned earlier in another post Aberdeen were missing key players and were coming off a midweek game where they played extra time and got beat, so their confidence would have been low and fitness questionable. Also Rangers were boosted by Celtics draw but thing is Rangers needed to take advantage and they did, so credit is due to a professional performance but it will not be so easy on Thursday.
I never seen that coming Stewart getting a start but fair play to him an excellent performance and that’s how to do it when you get your chance in the team take it and he done it.
Yes Aberdeen had injuries be we made them look sh*te
Davis is SHEER CLASS and Gerrard should be getting him signed up for another 2yrs .
This guy gets better and better .
Parlane(Iam old enough to remember him too) I agree about Shankland. Even if he is not good enough for the EPL or Europe, I suspect he could be good enough for us domestically. Would have been a very low cost gamble. Should still be able to pick him up relatively cheaply next summer, mind
William, I would not be surprised to see an extension - if he is still playing to that level next May
