Rangers & Celtic wins angled differently in BBC Scotland coverage

Rangers’ long-running feud with BBC Scotland has been well-publicised – and continues to grate – but it’s only more recently we’ve seen such glaring inconsistencies between how they cover the Ibrox club and rivals Celtic. The difference in how the national broadcaster covered Celtic’s humiliating defeat to Cluj and Rangers impressive victory against FC Midtjylland…

Willis as much as you say Barasic scored against St Joseph’s he didn’t and that is official. The goal was scored by Goldson so officially Barasic does not have two goals so you are wrong and the BBC are right. If I was a journalist working for the BBC I would be honest and say Celtic won and won well, they are scoring freely even in defeat in europe they scored three. Rangers struggled against St Mirren and if their striker was a better finisher it could easily have been a one each draw. Stop fuelling the negativity around the BBC and trying to bait rangers fans, it’s this paranoid behaviour that puts us on a par with paranoid Celtic fans who think referees have it in for them. Give it a rest. This story you have just published is gutter press, trying to find a story where none exists just so you can fuel a reaction in gers fans. Pure and simple Celtic were comfortable yesterday we were not. I for one will not be rising to this type of story.

He said rising to this kind of story…

I was referring to Willis’s view that BBC was biased regarding yesterday’s games, I am not rising to that… it’s garbage.

And if Defoe had scored that sorted 3 mins in it would have been different. End of the day we won and kept them boxed in for 90% of the game

that’s my point IF he scored Maybe BBC would have been kinder.

Can you please point out where you made the point about defoe because having read your post I cant see it anywhere. I do see you pointing out that IF the stmirren striker had his shooting boots on it would of finished 1-1. I dont see any mention of the fact defoe could have scored twice from equally good positions. That is a lot of points but none were about defoe. I think it’s clear to any neutral that the BBC are against Rangers in their actions and comments. If you are a Rangers fan I find it amusing that you can’t see it.

Willis’s post is all about the BBC reporting Celtic in a better light than Rangers and they were biased. I disagreed that it was bias because Gers struggled to finish off St mirren …so the answer to your question is… Defoe did not take his chance and it backed up my claim or my point that the BBC reported fairly. You obviously did not read the main issue and my reply to it. Me mentioning Defoe is neither here nor there, the fact is Defoe missing his chance backs up my point that the BBC got their reporting spot on because he missed his only decent chance to score. suggest you go back and read the thread properly and not skiff over it. P.S I support gers and i see bias from BBC all the time but on this occasion they were right, Gers struggled, Celtic did not and that’s a fact. One other thing you making a point about me not seeing bias and you finding it funny based on one comment I have made is pathetic. I understand clearly the Issues with the BBC but trying to make out they are biased when reporting honestly makes us look paranoid and stupid and I find it hilarious people like you cannot see that…you probably also think it’s OK to sing FTP

Please don’t start comparing situations between the continued contempt and bias by BBC Scotland and Celtic fans issue with referees; non applicable. BBC Scotland have demonstrated too many times that the bias exists and the impartiality is non existent. I’d rather not react to the BBC, let’s keep quiet as they are loving it.

I’m also seriously considering cancelling the direct debit for the TV licence, I have emailed BBC previously regarding this

what is applicable is some rangers fans getting paranoid about the BBC when they actually state the truth when it’s slagging Gers off, for example saying Rangers never turned up against Celtic. This in my mind is paranoia and a similar reaction to Celtic fans questioning every decision that goes against them, it just weakens our argument that the BBC is biased.
