I wouldn’t say they were over spending on turnbull. I would’ve been happy enough at rangers paying out that for him.
Are you serious !! 4 million quid for a player who had a good half season, thats all. He did not score against the top teams in the league, no games against European opposition, not one full international call up and we got a player in Hastie who is at least on a par with him for nothing.
I hope Hastie turns out to be a good signing for us but Turnbull was head and shoulders above everyone else in that Motherwell team. Hastie has potential but really it was a run of 10 or 12 games that got him his move. Turnbull was consistently good all season.
Not sure about him being consistent he scored his 1st goal against St mirren on the 31st of October and was pretty anonymous up until then. his next goal was not until January and it was only then he went on a decent run but did nothin against the better teams. 4 million to me it seems far too much.
