Always thought Livi might win but never thought we would lose am I in another dimension or having a nightmare SG you must be thinking the same thing.
Goldson needs to be dropped, and hopefully Tav is out with an injury so we can play…anyone else. Too many mistakes by those two, it’s time to shake things up.
Blues, I am as fucked off as anybody else. But for me to call for SG’s head, I would need a plan to replace him, an idea of how much it would cost, an idea of the players we will sell and how much for and a list of players who we can bring in who will make a difference, with costings.
But firstly, someone will have to explain to me how someone else can come in and definitely win the league in their first season.
He has made mistakes, lots of them. Tavernier and Goldson being undroppable are two of them. Kamara was only in because of injuries, but he is also someone who needs dropped again.
Lewis Ferguson and Docherty would give us power in midfield, something we seem to lack. Davis just doesn’t seem to have the power for these games.
But do I think I could come in and guarantee the league next season? No, do I fuck. Whoever came in would make their own mistakes and we are all out of road. SG wins the league next year or he is gone. I know it, you know it, he knows it. But we can’t give anybody else a season to bed in, so better the devil we know. I hope to god he has worked out what his mistakes have been and how to not make them next season.
He needs to freshen the team up when we are winning, so that players don’t come in cold to a team shorn of confidence. He needs to drop anybody for a poor game, including his favourites.
And we all need to pray we have some good signings lined up for the summer. Can’t see Hagi wanting to stay for this shite

Goldson is a huge problem for us. Rarely gets pass marks IMO.
So three defeats to the two bottom teams in quick succession. I cannot work out how we can be so impressive against Celtic and Braga and lifeless in the league. Two possibilities: either the players are inadequate or the mentality is wrong. Probably both. It is beyond disappointing. Some of the problems have been clear to see even when we were winning before the winter break. We relied too much on Morelos and a 36 year old striker. I love Defoe as a person but his age has always been against him being more than an occasional substitute. We do have quality players but the squad is entirely imbalanced. Not enough at the back, only one true goal scorer who is currently off form, and a glut of midfielders. It was not surprising that we ended up playing mainly in midfield, passing backwards and sideways. But what has really disappointed me most is the lack of fight when we are down. The players seem to have given up. I feel sorry for Gerrard, sure he has made mistakes but his players have let him down big time. I can take players having an off game, but I cannot take players not giving everything. I have only seen real determination in Europe and against Celtic. These games show we do have talent in the squad.
But we need to give Gerrard another year, he will know next season is last chance saloon. The season has been worse than last year because the players have let the fans down. Last season was clearly due to lack of quality, but this season is just baffling. If I were Gerrard I would sit down with each member of the squad and tell them they have to the end of the season to prove they want to earn the shirt or else they will be out. I don’t care any more if they have a bad game, the league is done. But I do want to see them fight to get the ball back, run into space, track back, all the minimum things we expect from representatives of our proud club, and all the things that have been missing from all the domestic games since the break.
Gerrard can sit them down all he likes, but if his tactics are wrong talking to them is not going to fix things. Also due to our European run, Barasic, Hagi and Morelos may go given the amount of players Gerrard has brought in compared to successes I would not trust him to bring in the right players in the summer that’s why I think he should go.
Who do you have in mind to replace him? Cannot think of anyone available unless Klopp suddenly fancies a job swap. Changing the manager will not fix things in my view. But he does need to learn from his mistakes. I agree it is more than lack of spirit that is the problem. But that has to be the starting point.
Gattuso, Big Duncan Ferguson and De Boer all three would need to work together to sort the mess out.
Gattuso not a bad shout but also fairly new to management. If we keep losing to the bottom 3 before end of season I might change my mind about Gerrard but for now I still think we need to give him a bit of time.
Gattuso has been managing for 5 years has won a world cup medal and got promotion with Pisa
Everybody will have an opinion and they will all be valid in someway, I would want a manager to be everything that Gerrard is not
- A manager with experience of winning a league or a cup as a manager .
- Not a rookie manager
- if its an ex player then a player who has actually won a league and knows how it is done.
- a manager who is not fixated on midfielders and gives interest and focus on all positions not just the position he played in.
- Someone with links to the club
- A manager who does not spend 7 million on the club he loved to bring in a guy who was not wanted at that club, a guy nobody wanted with no first team action for this club he came from.
- A manager who buys good established players and keeps them for the squad (hastie)
- A manager who does not buy guys worth over 3 million who have a history of serious injury (helander)
To be fair, I just checked and he has 7 years, so I stand corrected on that, though I still think Gerrard deserves a fair chance. But I understand why you are saying get rid of him. We see how things go rest of the season and if there is no improvement then he is in trouble anyway.
He now also has Napoli in last 16 of champions league and knows Scotland and Rangers inside out.

The board won’t sack SG the outcome of the next four games will probably make his mind up whether it’s time to walk something has gone horribly wrong since Christmas Hamilton’s goal tonight was again the result of another defensive error CG needs to be dropped another night and Rangers could easily have put five or six past Hamilton with the chances they created.SG was always a huge gamble anybody who thought he was going to wave a magic wand and bring Rangers back up to level terms with Celtic instantly was dreaming ,yes he’s had about 20 months and spent in SPFL terms a lot of money in my opinion a lot more money needs to be spent maybe the problem is that several of the players JT and CG amongst several have gone as far as they can go and need upgrading
