I think a few players showed why they haven’t been in and around the regular starting XI.
Foderingham looked shaky with the ball at his feet, and got lucky with a few errors that looked certain to cost Rangers a goal.
Flannagan also didn’t have a great night. He looked slow, and was never really able to implement himself on the game.
It was far from perfect against the Blue Brazil, but passage to the next round is secure. I suppose for Gerrard that’s all that will matter in the end.
