Next month and a half looks make or break for Docherty at Rangers

Greg Docherty hasn’t made an appearance for Rangers since the 18th of August. On that day, he struggled to make an impact after being included in the starting XI in the Second Round of the League Cup against East Fife at Methil. It seems that was a major turning point for Steven Gerrard, who had…

Really disappointed if he goes! He did what was asked of him and went on loan last year and was voted player of the year at Shrewsbury!

He’s young, gets stuck in, and has an eye for a goal. Even more important, he’s Rangers daft!

Some team is going to get a really good player, who could be good for us in the future, if he stays?
He must have pissed Steven Gerrard off?

I was over the moon when we signed him, I followed his progress whilst he was out on loan he was consistently the best player on the pitch with numerous man of the match awards. I find it really odd he has not even made the subs bench given some of Ojo’s performances but SG knows best I suppose.

I would rather we kept him. Davis will not last for ever, King will go back and Kamara looks off in the summer if not January. So two of the six are not here next season and Davis may well be on his last season.
I think SG has to make a decision. If he feels Doc is good enough, put him on a 6 months loan, ideally to English Championship or SPL. Next season, he comes back and fights for a jersey.
If however, SG thinks he will never make it, and sad as I am about that I think it looks that way, then I agree he should be allowed to go and enjoy a career elsewhere and hopefully prove us wrong. He outperformed Aribo last season, so there is a player there. It just looks like SG doesn’t fancy him.

A good player in there no doubt but to be honest there’s more important things at stake over the next month and a half, like league cup final, Europa qualification and some difficult away games in the league including Aberdeen (obviously not having their best season but no doubt they’ll want to raise their game against us!) and a trip to the other side of our city. You should be writing about how the next month and a half could be make or break for our whole season!

Think most of what you raise is covered in other threads.
