Lee McCulloch has praised Steven Gerrard and several first-team players, in his Evening Times column. The Gers swept aside Celtic in a dominant display at the weekend. Right from the off, they got on top of Neil Lennon’s team, hassling and harrying, as well as showing more composure on the ball. Glen Kamara leaves Scott…

All the talk of Rangers knowing they can beat Celtic is great in boosting moral and confidence. However we played Celtic with them having two of their most consistent players who are great going forward Forrest and Tierney left out. That would have been like us without Tavernier and Kent, We also played a team who had already won the league and have a triple treble cup final on their minds, not wanting to put a dampener on things just being realistic.

There are definitely mitigating factors for Celtic and agree if you take key players out of this Rangers team, it might look a lot different. Nonetheless, whatever way you look at it, it’s progress.

Very limited progress apart from run in Europe. Gerrard said he would be deemed a failure if there was no trophies delivered. Not only no trophies but we could not even get to a final. Given money spent and players brought in the record against Aberdeen , Kilmarnock and Hibs has been awful with no wins against any of them in 2018. The management of discipline has been non existent. The defence has been chopped and changed so much I believe it has had a major impact on consistency especially in 2018. Players who have been brought in on big money with some being brought in on big transfers being a failure such as Grezda, Barasic, Lafferty. Only progress I see is more points but this could also be down to a lacklustre Celtic and an injury hit Aberdeen. I hope to see huge improvement next year otherwise it will be same old story.
