Steven Gerrard confirmed during yesterday’s press conference, that Joe Worrall is staying at Rangers. Nottingham Forest had until 7th January to activate his release clause, but it didn’t happen. It was certainly a little surprising, considering their current injury crisis, but it’s undoubtedly good news for Rangers. Worrall racked up 50 Championship appearances for Forest…
Not looking forward to him playing with Katic though. Happy with either paired with McAuley. But Goldson will have to be back quickly to rest McAuley who can’t play twice a week.
Things may be quieter now we are out of Europe though. Fingers crossed
McAuley did manage a couple of games a week for a little period coming up to Christmas, but there was a sense of inevitability when he eventually broke down!
Agreed, but I think at his age it would be very difficult to sustain it. Think Goldson is fine and will be back soon, but if he wasn’t, I would save McAuley for top 6 matches and playKatic and Worral against the weaker teams.
Going forward, he needs to believe in Katic or replace him. Worral will need replaced either way as he is not going to stay, we couldn’t afford him. Personalkly, I would be happy with Livi’s Halket, our ex-player. Your thoughts on him?
I haven’t seen a huge amount of Halkett, but he’s been impressive the times I’ve watched Livi this season.
For a promoted team, their defensive record is outstanding. He leads that defence, so must take a lot of credit for that. Although the pressure to perform would ramp up considerably if he came back to Rangers, it’s got to be a good sign that he can marshal a weaker team to clean sheets against the big boys.
Definitely worth monitoring him over the second half of the season!
