After a series of disappointing results in recent weeks, one player in particular has faced heavy criticism from the fans. James Tavernier. The Rangers captain has over 125 league appearances for the Gers. Yet, he frequently comes under fire when the team isn’t winning. Mark Warburton brought Tavernier to the club in 2015. I have a few thoughts on this. For me, our support in recent years have always looked for a scapegoat. It was, Windass for a long time (people on twitter starting to say we miss him) and now it’s Tav. Even on form fans are having a go.
When he missed from seven yards out the other night, our support were up in arms, not many mentioned that our RB had got into that position.

All that said, his deadball is deserting him. Like the rest, I think he needs the winter break, the only concern is the important games between now and then.

I think he’s a very good player, I also think he gives his all.

Definitely agree here Iain, he seems to shoulder a lot more blame for results than he deserves.

Strong athlete who gives his all for the cause. Think the issue is almost that he was racking up assists with such regularity early in the season, that when they dry up he’s the worst in the world.

Good player.
