Is this how much Rangers plan to give Steven Gerrard this summer?

Dave King has promised Rangers fans that Steven Gerrard “will be backed” in the summer as Rangers open season ticket renewals for next season. With this season petering out disappointingly, there is absolutely no doubt Rangers have improved this year. More than that, this squad of players can see what they’re up against next year.…

He probably will, but people need to remember that its not all the fees its also the wages .He also has stated before that any money brought in from sales will be spent on the playing staff , so if Morelos goes that could be even more .That said , you couldn`t blame King if he used some of the money to offset some of the other costs given how much he and the 3 bears have had to put in over the last 4 years.

Cameron, that money is also required to pay the not inconsiderable wages of everybody already at Ibrox. I would also note that the tax is not paid on income, but profit. There is likely to be little of that. We may have to pay VAT, I am no accountant.
So, as wlgers says, the size of kitty may depend on outgoings if it is to be substantial. We are not going to outspend Celtic or buy the league, they have a lot more money than us. So we need to grow young players and sell them for a profit. It’s not easy, although Ajax make it look so. But we need to feed these young players into the first team, to get experience and to bring them to the attention of richer clubs.
Keep faith, RTID

I think King makes it clear he’ll be backed. Gerrard and Allen both know the limitations of the club financially whilst King accepts there is an element of risk.

I think the big thing here is that we do have a management team and Board that we can trust. They aren’t aiming to drive us into the wall, so any decision that’s taken will be with the best intentions. I believe that.

I think the Ajax, look after your kids model is what we’re trying to emulate long term. We have some pretty special young talent at the club and the future is certainly bright in that regard, but we need to invest in the side now to challenge Celtic.

Big summer ahead - if we beat them at Ibrox and match their results besides that, we’ve been let down by draws alone in the league. That’s not completely writing off the “impossible”, of course.

We need cutting edge and quality next season, with some more depth thrown in, and if we get that, I think we’ll do better than alright.
