Is it time to drop Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor?

There was a time this season when even the mere thought of dropping Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor would’ve jerked you forward, forcing you to snap out of a sacrilegious daydream. McGregor, to put it mildly, was sensational in the first quarter of the year. But since the last international break, something has gone wrong between…

Don’t be ridiculous, he’s had a couple of minor errors all season other than that he’s been fantastic! Even in his worst day he’s twice the keeper fods is on his best day. Dropping our best player isn’t the way to challenge for 55

I can not believe I am actually reading this :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

Definite clickbait, the sign of a blogger just writing anything to fill space. The best goalkeeper in the country by far

Sorry, Cameron, but this is just ridiculous.

He is not perfect, nobody is, but he is better than any other keeper in the league, never mind Foderingham

Hahaha, that is hilarious. Good to see that Cameron is up for a laugh, there is no way this could be taken as a serious article.

I don’t you know. I love the big man and without him we wouldn’t have had the Europa League run. Definitely not clickbait, just one opinion, but he’s been uninspiring recently. Perhaps testament to how good he was at the beginning of the season.

No one should have a guaranteed spot in the first team - McGregor was incredibly suspect for that goal.

Like I say, just an opinion, albeit one given in the frustration of last night’s defeat. And for the record, McGregor is the best keeper in the league and a better option than Foderingham on his day - without a doubt. I’m only suggesting he’s not been up to his usual standards and some time out the team might get him back.

I can’t believe that the goalie is under fire, for a really poor performance by the “outfield players”?

With a defence like we had last night, anyone would look irritable in goal…McCauley and Worrall were diabolical and Tavernier was practising his ballet dancing, when he’d have been better defending. I’ve said it before but he’s not a Captain. Captain’s lead by example and his defensive ineptitude means he can’t complain about others and gee them up!

Mr Willis get a grip. For a goalkeeper to have confidence in his ability and confidence in his defence there needs to be a consistent back 4 in place. McGregor is a top class keeper if anything needs changed its the constant defensive changes and players making stupid mistakes. I dont know what makes you a qualified Journalist sometimes the stuff you write is complete guff. Mr Mcillvaney has recently passed away now he was a Journalist. Honesty, integrity, high morals and values and most of all a style of writing that puts yours to shame.

Haha call this a moment of weakness. I was perhaps too sharp after the Killie result and like the rest of us, hurting.

McGregor is a top, top keeper and there isn’t one in the Scottish Premiership who’s a touch on him. But he was suspect for the goal.

And on the rest - you’re entitled to your opinion but I think that’s a little harsh. We launched this a few months ago and I think the team do a great job. We’re trying to grow a sustainable site which represents the plethora of opinions and news around the club - not everyone is always going to agree. On one side there’s not enough pro-Rangers media, on the other people too often bash it!

And on Mr. McIlvaney - I’ll leave you with some of his words on what it’s like to be a sports journalist nowadays and the challenges facing young sports writers like myself. Find a superb piece written by Hugh below.

You guys do a good job, there are obviously a few dodgy stories but at least yourself Cameron give his opinions (Even if misguided in most peoples thoughts like this one lol). One thing I really like is that you have some interaction with those of us who read your site, that is appreciated. Your writer who doesn’t seem to be with you anymore (David) also did the same. It would be nice if the others who currently write for your site also contributed when people discuss their articles
