I understand what you are saying here James and if they weren’t closing in on 9 then I would agree. But give me the chance to take Kent on loan next season and I’d snap your hand off. To be honest I’d rather have him on loan than paying some of the figures that have been quoted. I feel anywhere around 7 or 8 million is too much and could be better spent elsewhere.
Kent is a proven game changer who has shown he can handle the pressure of playing at Ibrox. Neither Jones or Hastie have proven that yet, Grezda isn’t good enough/doesn’t have the right attitude. Middleton is still learning, and we don’t know how Murphy will be when he comes back after being out for so long. In the long run, another year’s loan for Kent doesn’t do us any favours but if it wins us 55 next year who cares!
