Ayr United manager Ian McCall has dropped a big hint over prolific striker Lawrence Shankland’s future – and it sounds as though he could be Rangers-bound this summer. The striker has scored 63 times for Ayr in the last two seasons and looks certain to depart Somerset Park after his contract came to an end…
I hope we are not interested in this guy .He would not get anywhere near the first team and at 23 he should already be playing at a higher level than Ayr if he is any good .Cant compare him with Jones who already plays regularly in the top division or Hastie who is a younger and a player to be developed . We should be looking at better than Shankland who will just get in the way of Rudden and Dallas .

Great scoring record but a transfer that’s unlikely to do anything- considering we have the likes of Rudden and Hardie on the books, I’m not sure what signal it puts out to both of them.
