Not for one minute do I condone the religious idiots that tarnish Rangers football club… But I’m by no means under the illusion that the trouble lies solely at rangers door…the trouble is that argumentative big mouths like Chris Sutton (one of a few pro celtic pundits) who have never experienced growing up in the madness of the west of Scotland, tend to highlight the things that get Columb inches and feed the narrow minded to whip up a frenzy and paint scotland as a backward country…i was going to say we as a club must be more vocal in calling out celtics religious tauntings and shout from the rooftops to take the moral high ground but that’s only like looking in the mirror… Certainly more rangers minded men need to step forward and speak up for our great club and all the steps that have been made to correct this issue… Adjust the songs as to not offend but this is not a one way street… Even Chris boyd looks like he’s been the victim of Stephen Clarkes manipulation in being wheeled out as the token gers man to paint Clarke as impartial… Let’s stand up to religious bigots and the ones who pretend not to be… but take the moral high ground as they do but for rangers to achieve this we must weed out the songs that offend…we are making our self’s easy targets but the frustration is the finger pointers seem to think they are above scrutiny although there songs about hatred of huns and pro ira are just as sickening…
Its dead easy, they need to stop using the F***** word in the two songs or stop singing them altogether . It is no longer acceptable and even although the SFA don`t know what to do , UEFA have already fined us a few times and may well look at shutting stands now that we are back in Europe .
The idiots that sing these songs now need to think about all the Catholic current and former managers and players that we have had and think how they feel listening to this crap.
The root cause of the problem is separate schooling for Catholic Children and until State Funding is removed for all Faith Schools and children are educated together the problem will not go away.
Separating Education and Religion is the only way forward if the problem is to be eradicated. What is more, the financial savings for the Government / Lical Authorities would be significant!
