Rangers star James Tavernier’s exceptional form last season was always going to attract attention. The flying right back hit 17 goals and created another 20 in his first season as Rangers captain, and also his best in a Rangers shirt. James Tavernier has matured into a top-class right-back – and he’s only going to get…
That was days ago do you only work weekends lol
Short memory eh! Seem to have left out the bit about the lack of tackling ability, bottle and the wonderful back pass that handed Celtic the game at Parkhead!
Remember, most of his goals were penalties…you could have scored most of them!
Another fan site was hyping his value to £20 million? Someone’s been on the funny pills!! If we can get £4 million for him it’ll be a result!!
Take the money!!
Haha your all sorts of funny. I smeltic someone with green fingers. Tackling improved, never shirks a game and if someone wants to pay a pretty penny over 10 million we got to think about it.
When I say ‘we’ I mean us rangers fans. As usual you Celtic fans are actors posing as someone your not hehe! Stick to supporting your own club, they’ll need it after turnbull knocked you back.
Fingolf your on the glue mate. Name me a better full back in the Scottish game in the last 10, 20 years? See if ye say tiernay I’ll pish myself laughing
Oh Dear Steve…you couldn’t be more wrong! Rangers have been in my family for over 75 years. My Dad sold Rangers Pools for over 40 years, first at Renfrew then Heathrow Airport amongst BEA/BA Staff!
I want Rangers to win the Scottish Championship…soon! Back, last October, I wrote on this Blog, that we wouldn’t win anything with Tavernier in the team, or as Captain…I suppose I was wrong there??
I’ve said before, he is a good player going forward, but his tackling is poor and, personally, I think he doesn’t have the bottle for it!! He is also a poor choice as Captain, as he makes mistakes, then berates his team mates if they make one?? After jumping out of a tackle at Pittodrie last season, he then screamed at Ross McCrorie for a misplaced short pass!! Not great!
Most successful teams start with a rock solid defence. Ours hasn’t been, and one of the reasons is Tavernier, in my opinion! To improve our team we need a rock solid right full back and a “real” Captain…my choice would be Davis!
I’ve supported Rangers for over 60 years…you never used to be called a Celtic Supporter for wanting something better for the team…I still say we’ll win nothing with Tavernier in the team!
You are right we will never win anything without a rock solid defence however I think we could get away with playing Tavernier if left back is sorted out. Haliday, Flanagan, Barasic have all played there none consistently and none all that we’ll maybe apart from Haliday once against Celtic
We also need a settled central two hopefully this wI’ll be Goldson and Katic. Tavernier in my opinion is overated and it’s because he performs better than the right but that ain’t difficult. As for captain he is not for me.
The Main thing being is This, teeny-tears is supposedly worth around the twenty to twenty+ Million Pounds so given that Tav can these days still out-perform him in BOTH defence And ATTACK, we then have one pricey Full Back in Tav.
