There was no place in the Rangers squad for Greg Stewart on Thursday night, as Steven Gerrard’s side drew 1-1 with Porto. Yet, as we look ahead to Sunday’s clash with Motherwell, he’s surely one of those who should come in. The manager has already stated that there won’t be wholesale changes, just a freshening…
I think we might see Stewart and Defoe back on Sunday with Arfield in midfield for either Jack or Kamara.
The hard part is deciding who to drop, or rest. The fact that Kamara has been ill would suggest him. I would be tempted to rest Kent so we don’t rush him too much, but against that his relationship with Barisic is going to be a thing of great beauty.
Barker did nothing wrong and probably deserves another go. It would be a braver man than me to tell the Buffalo he can’t play
I would like to see Docherty in AM, but suspect it is more likely to be Aribo. As the article notes, Arfield is going to have to step up if he wants a jersey.
The best thing is that middle to front, it is performance, not name, that gets you a jersey. that is how it should be.
On y va, as the French say. March on!
