Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is faced with selection headaches ahead of Saturday’s Old Firm clash at Ibrox. Surely though, with Ryan Kent still struggling with a hamstring injury, Glenn Middleton must start ahead of Eros Grezda. Injury has restricted Kent to just one appearance since the beginning of November. (Photo by Ian MacNicol/Getty Images) Middleton…
Local,
I agree. How about solving several problems by playing Lafferty up top, with Morelos in behind him as No 10?
Lafferty battles the CBs, but they have to keep an eye out on Morelos at the same time. He has shown he can create and link play as well as score. We don’t have an AM unless Arfield is back, so not sacrificing anything.
Just have to make sure the wingers press the ball and also help out the midfield.
Other option, if we have three standing CBs,(McCrorie?) would be to go 3-5-2. Flood the midfield by pushing Wallace (please) and Tavernier up, have Jack and Rossiter sit while Halliday pushes forward. Or drop Halliday into Rossiter’s jersey and ask Candeias to move inside.
Need to try something to put pressure on them
