This morning, manager, Steven Gerrard and captain, James Tavernier, faced the media to preview tomorrow’s Old Firm. The mood was upbeat and relaxed ahead of what is surely the biggest test yet of Rangers’ title credentials. In fact, despite regularly criticising his players of late, Gerrard made a bold statement about the season so far.…

48% win rate 18w 13d 6l doesn’t look so perfect but a win against celtic would go a long way to suggesting we are moving in the right direction… Far to many dropped points in games we should have won and to make things worse celtic have been really poor without us capitalising… We should be 6 clear

Given where we were , a poor third in the league and out of Europe in the first qualifying rounds to where we are now it has been good progress . To rejig the whole squad , bring in the number of new players we did and do as well as we have has been excellent . He is right , a couple of draws turned into wins or defeating Livvy rather than losing and we would be top of the league.
We have had too many draws and we need to improve our goalscoring across the team to turn these into wins .Generally though I agree with the gaffers view on it.

Don’t want to sound too negative on the assessment of the team and love what sg says and all the positive stuff surrounding ibrox…ive been totally behind the team and brushing off the negatives up till the Dundee game… But if we loss to celtic we have killie and Livingston away when we come back and if we drop more points then the league is over and sg looks worse than bang average even with the positive press conferences and positive talking up of the team…
