Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has confirmed that Ibrox midfielder Joe Aribo will go away with Nigeria on international duty and face Brazil in Singapore – despite bizarre suggestions of a looming ‘club v country division‘ Aribo missed the last few Rangers games after suffering a bad head wound in the win over Livingston, even training…
‘Bizarre’ I don’t get that one either.
Hopefully he will get some minutes under his belt to top up his match fitness
Really happy for Aribo, he obviously wants to become an established international player and Gerrard is allowing him the opportunity to meet up with the squad and get some game time before our game against Hearts. Great to see our players being international players they will become stronger if pitched in against teams like Brazil, Belgium, Italy etc. Barasic had great displays in a Croatian shirt recently and has flourished since then, it will be good to see Morelos doing the same for Columbia if given the chance. Players when in that environment will also learn from colleagues, who would not want to be in a squad with the likes of champions league winner Robertson or Rodriguez of Inter or Rakatic from Barcelona or a Modric? It will only raise the profile of Rangers and help players develop and add value to their transfer value. The more international players we have the better. I am also sure if players are getting call ups they will know that playing for Rangers will not hold them back from improving their careers. I think this will keep them happy and content in the knowledge they are not getting ignored by international managers because they are playing in a league that is not considered one of the best.
As I live in Singapore I’ll be delighted for the chance to see Big Joe in action. Mon the Super Eagles!
