Gareth McAuley’s first start for Rangers ended in just about as positive a fashion as it could’ve done yesterday. The centre-back played a starring role as the Gers overcame Livingston 3-0 at Ibrox. Alongside Connor Goldson, McAuley swept up everything that came his way, and looked the part at the heart of Steven Gerrard’s defence.…
he will appreciate how lucky he is to be at Ibrox.score against the greeners and he will be a legend.great signing by steve ger.
I think he’ll be considered a hero if he can keep them out! Rangers have conceded far too many goals against Celtic in recent matches. The likes of Russell Martin, Clint Hill, and Rob Kiernan have all been too slow to deal with their pace. McAuley has dealt with harder strike-forces than what Celtic have to offer though, so you have to imagine he’ll be up for it.
Plenty of games before now and then right enough!
Because of the number of games in the next 5 weeks, I doubt he will be able to play them all. My thought would be to work with 2 partnerships, probably McAuley/Katic and Goldson/Worrall and rotate the partnerships to keep them free whilst retaining continuity.
However, as I acknowledge SG has slightly more experience than me, I will support his decision
Spot on David we will have to be 110percent up fur it and nick them of there east end perch
Cheers David. Yea. Definitely. Mate as for Steve Davis don’t want him at the Bronx some young blood who want to play for the mighty Gers with Gerrard should be ok.
That’s interesting mate. A lot of fans seem to be quite keen on him returning, especially after that video where he stated how much he would love a return.
I think he could still bring plenty to the table, but some may not want him because he left during the dark days like several others. McGregor has been a success whilst doing the same though.
