Gareth McAuley and Connor Goldson could be the way forward

For the first time ever, Steven Gerrard paired Gareth McAuley with Connor Goldson for a full 90 minutes yesterday. Rangers routed Livingston 3-0 at Ibrox in a match that was perhaps a bit more nervy than the score-line suggests. Regardless, the Ibrox side once again showed their cutting edge in the final third to see…

Could be. Except, not sure we can expect, or even ask McAuley to play 10 games in a month at his age.
I would be tempted to pair McAuley with Katic to repair his confidence and Goldson with Worral and rotate the pairs.
But I will trust SG, he knows best

I agree, although as Gerard has already said, we need two players for each position, so rotation of the pairings is a must in my opinion.
I think a trophy is all that is lacking with this squad and winning one would boost confidence and belief.

It’s a tricky one, because whenever Katic or Worrall have returned, both have looked poor. Against the likes of Hibs, Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts, I don’t know if Gerrard should fancy playing Katic or Worrall with the form they’re in.

There’s an argument that McAuley and Goldson could play in those bigger games whilst Katic and Worrall are rotated for the likes of Dundee, St Johnstone etc. That might be the logical way to play it! There will need to be some sort of rotation, but Gerrard needs to find himself a partnership he likes. This could be it!
