Sunday afternoon saw Rangers end their SPL season with a defeat. It was a stark reminder that despite progress and a good run of form over the last two months, there’s still a way to go. However, four members of yesterday’s starting XI may play no further part in the Gerrard revolution. Wes Foderingham The…
It would be nice to keep Fods and instead add Barisic , Flanagan and Halliday to that list.
We need a new keeper that can seriously challenge McGregor. That unfortunately is not anyone currently at the Club. We should look to sell Barasic. He is a quality player but not suited to the rough house that is Scottish Football and we should make a profit! Morelos should only be sold if we can make serious money on him and as Sunday proved, we need quality players to walk straight into the first eleven. If we have serious money available then I would like to see us raid Liverpool for Kent, Adam Lalana, and James Milner assuming that Lalana is available on loan and Milner is available on a free!
Lalana is going back to Southampton on loan
Flanagan has been decent at Left Back once he sorted his issues out. Was not so good yesterday but who was? I lost patience with Barisic yesterday, agree with TomA he is a quality player, a Croatian international who is not suited to Scottish football. Halliday will go nowhere, doubt anybody will come in for him. He is a squad player, that is all. Foderingham will not stay as backup, he wants and deserves more.
Fingers crossed for the close season
We will not bring in a keeper that can seriously challenge McGregor as he was clearly brought in to be No 1 for at least a couple of seasons, so no other keeper of that level will sign on to be second choice .I know Fods is frustrated but if he doesn`t get a better offer then I would be happy for him to be back up .Look across the city where Bain has taken over from Gordon , Fods is a better keeper than him and he is being lauded as something great . As for Flanagan , yeah we all saw his tackle a couple of weeks ago , but he lacks technical ability and provides no overlapping threat on either side .Left back is somewhere we need to upgrade and he , Barisic and Halliday need to go to make space in the squad for better players.
