Why is it ridiculous? you never heard of a 442? against weak tired teams reduced to 10 men when we want to improve goal difference why not? its not as if the win was in any doubt at Hibs, Defoe could have stayed on with Arfield going off . As a starting position this may also work if we have two strong tackling central midfield players and two fast wingers knocking the ball into two forwards, surely it must be better than one, especially when teams are sitting back with ten men behind the ball. It will also mean central defenders can stay back, no more getting caught out on the break as they won’t need to support the one forward at corners etc. Miller was a great player with loads of experience and operated under some great managers and coaches including top international managers in Taylor and Advocat, what gives you the right to say he makes ridiculous statements? what is your footballing credentials? have you ever actually played football? it’s you that’s ridiculous.
It seems a bit ridiculous to me that you are criticising the writer , Parlane ,when you suggest that we could have taken off Arfield on Sunday rather than Defoe when Arfield wasnt playing and in fact didnt take any part of the game .If you are going to criticise at least get your facts right .
Oh , and by the way Charlie Miller was never a great player , he was a good player who could have been great if he had not pissed away his career .He played under Walter and wee Dick and never listened to either when they told him to screw the nut , so how much tactically he picked up from them would be in doubt .
He`s just another has been who uses his links to Rangers to try to stay relevant.
