Always felt McCoist pushed him out when we went down. Right or wrong, I got the impression at the time that he would have stayed but McCoist didn’t want him. I love Ally as a player and a leader, “we don’t do walking away” but if I am right it’s yet another example that management is not his thing
Always thought Fleck under achieved and wondered if it was because he was not committed enough, possibly not training hard enough or not pushing himself. When he was given the tag of new Rooney his performances got worse. I think at the time Ally was right to drop him but the move to England has worked so maybe you are right maybe Ally and him just never saw eye to eye, then again maybe Ally just could not get the best out of him. He has certainly proved his worth since moving on.
