With the release of Rangers’ annual report, there’s been much hysteria about the £11.3m loss accrued in the last financial year. Dave King’s been clear throughout his rein at Ibrox [Evening Times] about the need for considerable investment – £50m to be exact – and you highly doubt the club sanctioned the reported £7.5m fee…
If one of the share holders has agreed to cover the £10million that is being talked about , there is no pressure to sell , however it is good to know that we have an asset who , if sold , would clear our debt and leave money left over .
In an ideal world Alfie stays until we win the league and then leaves to a decent EPL club in the summer.
We all know Alfie is going. But going in January costs us the league. Even if he is replaced, look at Davis and Defoe last season - it takes time to gel and become effective, time we won’t have. losing the league costs potentially £20 million, so Alfie doesn’t go until the summer. And then for more than £20 million. If he scores over 30 goals, which seems inevitable, we are looking at £30 million.
Debts cleared, leaves us with Barisic, Katic, Aribo, Kent, Kamara as very sellable assets. Like them, we let one go each season, promote youth or replace cheaply. I hate to respect anything about them, but their business model is good.
