Nicholas as usual is missing the point , its not a comparison with Edouard he should be looking at it is a comparison with some of the guys that the English clubs have paid millions for recently .
Sheff Utd paid £18 million for McBurnie , based on goals in the Championship .Villa paid £22 million for Wesley , West Ham paid over £20 million for Haller ( based on his performances in last years Europa League for Frankfurt ,Jovic also got a move to Real Madrid by the way ) and Newcastle paid about £40 million for Joelinton .
Morelos is miles better than any of them and if Charlie knew anything about football he would see that, or perhaps he does and is just worried that Alfies goal drought against his beloved hoops is about to come to an end.
This is definitely trying to reduce Morelos’s value lol “your desperate if u sign Morelos for 40m” and “Edouard must be 50m”
Steady eddy is no where near Morelos in terms of value atm. Not getting into who is the better player
But Morelos has now scored consistently over 2 seasons and is in the best form of his career and a full fledged national team player steady eddy is not a consistent scorers 1/3 of Alfie’s output but yeah let’s not look at this eh Charlie is he worth 40m well in today’s market u would have to say yes…
Let’s look at it another way
Strikers generally go for more money than defenders playing roughly the same quality of football ie does a great job in respected pos and considered best in there pos at the time of sale strikers tend to get the cash thrown there way as goals win games… be the saying and been pretty much a staple of transfers since I can remember 30 years+ …
After giving it the big one about Tierney being worth 30m Arsenal were undervaluing him in Charlie’s eyes now the best striker in the league by a country mile is worth 2 Bob…
Last year Alfie was worth fuck all because he was singled out after a couple of rash moments from Alfie and was carded for fuck all half the time granted some where reds when the mist appeared but most where barely a yellow. So last year came Charlie and the Celtic loyal with Alfie is unsellable he could be worth millions but “he’s a basket case” was Charlie’s words well now Morelos isn’t being carded for sneezing and temperament has calmed and matured they have nothing other than “nah no way this guys worth 40m” give us a reason why then Charlie players like jovetic joelinton etc. Are 40m+ players and Alfie isn’t at least similar in value
If Newcastle can slap a 20m price tag on Dwight Gayle who in the last 8 seasons has had one decent season in the championship and played 2 games with 0 goals I’m sure Alfie banging in an extra 30+ goals this season he has to be worth a shit to. More no?
