If anyone was going to be able to attract an England international to Ibrox, it’d probably be the England international at the helm of the club. Rangers and Steven Gerrard have been linked with two electric options up front in this window. One is a Premier League striker of old with plenty of juice left…
Got to be Defoe. Proven track record and still has it, and could certainly perform against teams like Hibs and Dundee off the bench in the last 20 minutes to kill a game if needed.
Imagine having to mark him and Morelos - you’d panic and let someone through. Plus I’d argue he’s a better finisher than Morelos.
Troy Deeney has the same effect at Watford, Dzeko did the same as City. - limited ability but terrifying to defenders and let’s their midfield break through from deep to score. Both are more physical but Defoes finishing has a fear factor.
Solanke may be highly rated, but we need goals off the bench, not potential.
